The Brown Bull
The Brown Bull is a well established, family ran, warm and friendly, village pub. Dogs are welcome in this establishment as long as they are well behaved and the same goes for any children. A real fire and four Real Ale pumps are just two good reasons to pay a visit. We feature in the Good Beer Guide and voted Renfrewshire Pub of the Year from CAMRA for our Ales.
The Brown Bull dates back to 1809 where its use in conjunction with the "Doctors" building was a drinking den with stables for the horses and rooms for the men to get their heads down before traveling with materials back to the cities.In more recent times the pub was used for a scene in Dr Findlay's Casebook.
Occasional acoustic folk sessions on Sundays.
Quiz night every Tuesday at 8.30pm, everyone welcome to come along and sharpen that brain!
We serve food daily from 12.30 to 8pm Sunday - Thursday, 8.30pm Friday - Saturday. As well as an extensive menu, we always have two specials available each day. Also a Roast is prepared for each Sunday. It doesn't last long, you need to be quick. We have a Dining Room upstairs where food is served, 6 to 8pm - Thursday, 6 to 8.30pm Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. The remainder of the time, food is served in the bar area.
Please book at all times to avoid disapointment or a long wait. If we're expecting you of a busy evening your dining experience will not be spoiled.The room is available throughout the week for large parties.
