Lochwinnoch is a village in rural Renfrewshire on the west coast of Scotland. With Glasgow only 20 miles to the east, the Clyde coast 10 miles to the west, and surrounded by Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park, Lochwinnoch offers a difficult to find mix of rural/urban living.
Lochwinnoch however is a community in transition. Historically the village supported numerous businesses with mills, cooperage, farming, furniture making, flag making and the curling stone factory.
In recent times however many of the local businesses have closed or moved away. Local jobs have become scarce and with the unused land being rezoned for housing, the influx of new families have challenged the community to maintain it's unique village character as it increasingly becomes a commuter village.
One way to integrate people and maintain this character is to involve them in the many community activities. There are groups for all ages and interests. Toddlers, Art Group, International Aid are just a few of the activities available. Why now browse through the pages of the Community section. You are assured of a warm welcome to all.
