The Lochwinnoch Heritage Forum was formed in March 2000 after a number of local people who were concerned about the deterioration of the Bridgend Falls had been meeting informally. The objects of the Forum are generally to conserve and improve the cultural, industrial and natural heritage of the Lochwinnoch area, and in particular:-
a) to carry out the physical conservation of historic buildings and structures.
b) to promote interest in, and awareness of, the heritage of Lochwinnoch among residents and visitors.
c) to improve access for disabled people to historic buildings and sites of cultural interest.
d) to coordinate the activities of various statutory and voluntary bodies and individuals in respect of the conservation and improvement of all aspects of the heritage of Lochwinnoch
The restoration of Bridgend Falls is the first major project which the group is working on.
