Wheelie Bin Grand Prix

20th August 2006

Lochwinnoch is set to host the second Wheelie Bin Grand Prix this year on Sunday 20th August, 2006. The sleepy village west of Glasgow will become the centre of attention for local media as Q96FM follow the build up to this ground breaking event.

There are 4 race categories to enter as well as a range of static events...

Practice Track and pits open: 12:30pm

Race Programme Starts: 1:30pm

Entrance Requirements: 2 person teams; one pusher and one driver; must change mid-way though race.

4 Race Categories: Team uniforms are permitted.

  • 100m sprint: Road Legal Wheelies (FIA Group N):
    Race open to standard production wheelies (240 litre) but are permitted to up-rate to race suspension and tyres.
  • Endurance Wheelie: Timed cross Country Rally demonstrating skills and manoevourability, experience of navigation over difficult terrain would be useful. Wheelie Bin International scrutineering officials will be in attendance to ensure rules are obeyed. Wheelie Bin International (WBI) are working closely with Health and Safety Executive to have the legendary '8" kerb drop' included.

Registration:
£10 per bin. All proceeds go to local charities and local groups. (Corporate Sponsorship includes registration fee).

Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities

Platinum (minimum donation £100) have a race category named after your company eg. 'the wondrous wheelies 100m sprint race'. Your name will appear in all printed and media material. Includes registration.

Gold (minimum donation £50) race your corporate wheelie bin. Bins can be decorated with corporate advertising and team names can advertise your company. Includes registration.

Silver ( minimum donation £25)
